Diego Coria

You may recognize Diego, he started with Sonitrol 18 years ago as an installer and is now the Technical Installation Manager. Diego has displayed extraordinary leadership skills throughout the years. He doesn’t hesitate to share his knowledge with his co-workers and his calm demeanor is an asset when unexpected changes occur in the field. Please take a moment to see Diego’s thoughts on the industry below.

What do you think are the keys to success for providing the quality service to our customers?

“Most important is making sure they understand we have verified audio detection and how that can benefit them. I also think it is important to have inter-action and build relationships with our customers. Building relationships builds trust and that is important.

In your opinion, what is needed to assure that our customers receive the protection that is needed to secure their location?

“Keeping our customers aware of all the services we provide. We really can address any concerns that a customer might need.”

How did it make you feel to win the Employee of the Quarter­

“It made me feel very proud that all my hard work paid off. I felt it was a commitment from my fellow employees that they trust me and what I do.”

Verified Audio Detection

Audio Detection is part of the technical application we use to detect forced entry. When threatening sounds are made to a building, those sounds activate the Sonitrol system and allows our trained operators to listen in real time what is taking place in your building. When we dispatch, we can relay to law enforcement what we are hearing to better prepare them when they arrive on the scene. For our customers, impact audio allows us to detect the intrusion from any point and not just from doors or windows. Another major benefit is early detection. Many times, we have dispatched the police before the intruder is inside of the building. The police agencies consider Sonitrol and our audio technology a verified alarm and that qualifies for a faster police response. We feel the faster we can get the police on the scene, the better chance we have to prevent a loss.

Triple Ring Technologies and Slakey Brothers agreed to share their recent stories of how audio detection prevented a loss from occurring.

“We had received some activations about 10 days ago, but it was verified no entry to the building was made, so Sonitrol did not dispatch the police. I think that might have been an attempt to see if the police came or not.

This time entry was made through a window next to the door. The police were dispatched and better yet we could see the intruder on a camera located inside the building! The police got there fast and caught the guy while he was still inside. The police came fast because the break-in was verified

I have used other systems in the past that the police were slow to come or not come at all because of false alarms the system was not verified. I have allowed our employees to see the video and let them know what Sonitrol does for us. This is a very good system.”

“When the police officers arrived, there was a car outside and their first thought was this was the cleaning company inside and not a break-in. When someone ran out of the building and was followed by a second person running out of the building, the chase was on and one of the intruders was caught. Dogs were used to track the other person, but he got to a stream and the dogs lost the scent. The car left at the building belonged to this guy and he will be caught.

I live approximately 40 minutes away and when I arrived there were 11 or 12 police officers on the scene all “high fiving” what had happened. The two that chased the guy with the dogs were there sweating after the chase. This is what we were hoping would happen if someone attempted to steal our goods. This was a huge win.”
