Sonitrol Protects, Apprehends, and Gives Back in 2019

While it felt like 2019 just flew by, it was a great year full of opportunities at Sonitrol of Silicon Valley. We introduced you to new products, continued to protect and apprehend, and took the time to giveback through multiple charitable drives and events.

Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments from the past year, including our annual Ugly Sweater Potluck Lunch (pictured below).

New Technology Offers Increased Protection:

Sonitrol introduced the all-in-one TotalGuard™ system in 2018, allowing businesses of all sizes to incorporate verified audio and video technology with a single device. This year, we introduced an expansion to the TotalGuard™ system with the Smart Hub.
  • Add wireless door, window, motion, and water sensors to any TotalGuard™ system
  • Incorporate additional cameras to your system, including thermal, outdoor, and indoor mini dome cameras

Sonitrol also provided new ways for customers to ‘cut the cord’ – the traditional phone cord – and move to network-based IP security solutions. 

Upgrading to internet-based security technology (not using VOIP/digital phone lines) allows for more flexibility with your system and the ability to better manage your system on-the-go.

Sonitrol + Police = Apprehending Criminals!

In 2019, the Sonitrol of Silicon Valley Central Station dispatched on 35 specific alarm events that resulted in apprehensions. Our team of operators work around the clock, including weekends and holidays, to verify alarm signals and dispatch appropriate law enforcement or fire departments to your facility. Final Apprehension of 2019

In the early morning hours on December 28, operators received an alarm from a local business. Within one minute, San Jose PD was dispatched to the facility.
 
Less than five minutes later, operators received confirmation from San Jose PD that one individual was apprehended when they arrived on site. 
With a traditional alarm system, police can take up to 45 minutes to respond to an alarm signal. 
 
However, with Sonitrol’s verified audio technology, response times are substantially quicker, often with response times of 10 minutes or less.
 
In this event, from dispatch toapprehension, the response time was five minutes!
