Sonitrol’s Commitment to Health, Safety, and Security

Dear Sonitrol customers, friends and family,

As fellow members of the Silicon Valley community, we are implementing policies and procedures to protect our neighbors, clients, and families. Like all of you, we are diligently working to minimize the spread of COVID-19, keep our employees safe, and providing the premier security service you expect from Sonitrol. Outlined below are several steps we are taking to protect our workplace and staff, as well as your office and employees.

Within the workplace

  • New Installations: Installations for customers without a current system in place will be given priority, as needed, to ensure all businesses are protected.
  • Service Calls: Our service technicians are actively working to ensure systems remain active and functioning during this time. Prioritization will be given to emergency service calls with non-functioning security systems.
  • Central Station Monitoring: To protect the health of our dedicated operators, we have taken measures to further secure our Central Station, including restricting personnel and increasing cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
  • Customer Visits: We have suspended in-person customer care calls and visits to client sites. Virtual training on Sonitrol systems will be provided for customers during this time.

For our employees

  • Hand Washing and Hygiene: We are implementing CDC’s recommendations whenever possible for maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. This includes consistent communication to employees encouraging the practice of proper health procedures, including hand washing, disinfecting surfaces, covering coughs/sneezing, and avoiding touch faces.
  • Maintaining Social Distance: Access to the Sonitrol of Silicon Valley office has been restricted to employees only (no visitors). We have adjusted employee work schedules to even the flow of essential on-site personnel, allowing for employees to work at recommended distances.
  • Employee Health: Any employee experiencing cold/flu-like systems, shortness of breath, or other illness has been asked to stay home and self-quarantine. This also includes any staff who have made contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 or fall into high-risk categories.

Protecting Your Business

  • Continued Protection: Our Central Station operators will continue to monitor your Sonitrol systems during this time from our secured facility. While many businesses are closed or empty during this time, it’s essential to protect your business from criminals who will try to take advantage of the current climate.
  • Updating User/Call Logs: As many work environments have been adjusted to meet recommendations and regulations, please take the time to call into our Central Station to ensure your user list and call list is accurate. If there is a threat to your business, it is imperative we know the right people to contact.
  • Sonitrol Mobile App Update: We have released a new version of the Sonitrol Mobile App for both Apple and Android users. Please download this latest version for additional remote management of your system.
  • Access Control Users: If your business hours or employees have changed as a result of recent regulations, please contact our Central Station to update your door lock times and information. Access Control systems provide valuable solutions to control the flow of employees and visitors to your building and can provide an additional level of security if your business is closed.
  • Video Monitoring: Customers with video surveillance systems are encourage to perform routine check-ins and tests of their system, especially with empty buildings. Ensure all cameras are connected, focused, and recording or streaming video. Network-based systems can often be accessed through the Sonitrol Mobile App and cloud-based online systems.
If you have questions about your Sonitrol service during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office and we can review your system, as well as our policies and procedures.
