Sonitrol Staff Spotlight: Sabrina Nemie, Operator
What are some of your day-to-day duties?
As an operator, whether working the overnight or the ‘swing’ shift in the afternoon, I monitor our accounts for alarms, contact customers, and if an alarm is received, will dispatch the appropriate emergency response.
Are there any common questions you receive from customers?
Upon calling a customer when we’ve received an alarm at their facility, we often get asked “What Should I Do?” in response to the alarm. If you are unsure, we recommend taking the safe approach and send law enforcement to investigate the incident. When in doubt, send them out!
What is your favorite part of the job?
Hands down the most favorite part of my job is catching the bad guys!
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
In my down time, I enjoy going on a hike with my family, including my four sons (ages 9 to 17). We explore trails all over the area, including Coyote Hills, Big Basin, Yosemite and the Redwoods.

Tips to enjoy a safe and secure Halloween in 2020
- Engage in low-risk outdoor activities like pumpkin carving, visiting a pumpkin patch, or decorating your doors and windows.

- Use common sense if you are going trick-or-treating: mask up, social distance, and visit family and close friends only.
- Turning the lights off may give off a spooky vibe, but shadowy buildings provide great cover for criminals. Use motion-activated lighting or leave exterior lights on to ward off unwanted intruders.
- Arm your Sonitrol system when you leave for the day/weekend. If you have that nagging feeling that you didn’t set the system (similar to Did I turn the oven off?), check the Sonitrol Mobile App and remotely arm your connected system.
