The holiday season looks quite different this year; however, many of the risks to your business over the next few weeks will feel quite familiar. Remember, there are two types of people who don’t take off the holidays in our business: criminals and our central station operators.
People are shopping online much more this holiday season, and coronavirus restrictions have shut the doors on several businesses and offices. These empty buildings are attractive targets for criminals!
Here are our top tips to help protect your facility this season:
- Arm your system and monitor the status with the Sonitrol Mobile App.
- Run routine tests to ensure all devices are working properly.
- Confirm your building schedule with our team so that your building stays locked when necessary.
- Backup your data before you leave for the holidays, both at home and at work. In case of a power outage, damage, or theft, you’ll have a secure copy of your important information.

Season of Giving: Sending Messages of Thanks and Hope
We have fully entered the holiday season, which precedes the conclusion of quite an unprecedented year! This season is full of giving and thanks, and we could not be more thankful for our hard working staff, who have continued to adapt and remain dedicated throughout to offer protection and security. Our Central Station operators work around the clock monitoring accounts 24/7 – including holidays! – and verify and dispatch on alarms to the proper emergency response.
Throughout this season, we are constantly reminded of how thankful we are and continuously looking for ways to give back. Our team is hosting a toy drive for Kinship, Adoptive & Foster Parent Association of Santa Clara County. KAFPA is a non-profit providing resources for advocates of the needs of kinship, adoptive and foster families, right here in our very own neighborhood. If you would like to contribute a toy or send a gift card (valued $20 or less) as part of our effort to give back, please reach out to Ashley Preston at apreseton@sonitrolsv.com by December 12.
