Looking Back at a Very Memorable 2020!

A global pandemic and statewide lockdown orders didn’t stop criminals in 2020, and our trained Central Station operators remained vigilant in monitoring your account and working to apprehend intruders. Below are three top apprehensions that showcase the power and protection offered by Sonitrol’s unique audio intrusion security.

May 2020: Apprehended Before Unconventional Entry

Operators received audio of movement and glass breaking from a local gun shop. Police apprehended two subjects on the roof before they could make entry. Apprehended individuals were breaking windows trying to find a weak point to enter.

July 2020: The Power of Sonitrol "Ears"

Operators received audio of faint movement and tapping sounds at a construction site. When police arrived on scene, they apprehended a subject onsite who was trying to break in to trailers. One of the customer’s employees was actually staying onsite in a separate trailer; after Sonitrol notified the customer, he looked out his window and saw the person trying to break in. Even being onsite, the customer could not hear the individual trying to break in, but the Sonitrol audio sensors did!

May, August 2020: Quick Response to Verified Alarms

A local golf course had been burglarized multiple times over the summer – always “smash and grabs,” with the suspects in and out fairly quickly. To increase protection, our team added a Sonitrol multisensory camera to the customer’s system, which was able to pick up audio and provide video verification. This dual layer of verification allowed our operators to dispatch police before the intruders made it inside the building. These verified alarms also resulted in quick response by police, allowing officers to arrive in time to apprehend subjects on multiple occasions.

New Year, New Staff!

We had some new and familiar faces join the Sonitrol of Silicon Valley team in 2020. You met our Install Coordinator Anthony Alvarado over the summer, and now we’d like to you to meet another new face: Security Consultant Nate Sanidad.

On any given day, you can find Nate researching and calling on prospective Sonitrol customers. Whether he is working from the office or safely exploring businesses in the field, Nate looks for ways to further protect facilities in our area. Hands down, his favorite part of the job is “going through the entire sales process.” The process of finding a new customer, talking with them to find out their security needs, and designing a system to address those needs, all the way to presenting the plan and scheduling the installation is very satisfying!
 
When Nate is off the clock, his favorite hobby is going to the gym and lifting weights. He also loves spending time with his family, especially his baby boy!

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.): January 9, 2021

Every year on January 9, people gather to show support for Police and Law Enforcement in communities across the nation. To keep everyone safe, we’ve shared some COVID-friendly ways to share your support throughout year:
 
  • Wear a blue ribbon
  • Put blue bulbs in your home exterior lights
  • Have meals or treats delivered to stations
  • Create Thank You videos and share online
 

Recognizing Sonitrol Achievement and Giving Back in 2020

While this year changed the way we communicate with our friends, connect with family, and conduct business with colleagues and customers, our team has shown flexibility and resilience in continuing to provide security and protection throughout the pandemic. Before the world shut down in March, Sonitrol held its annual convention, which recognized outstanding achievers throughout the Sonitrol national network. These Sonitrol of Silicon Valley team members received awards at the conference the following areas – congrats to these dedicated individuals!

Throughout the year, Sonitrol’s I Make A Difference (IMD) team organizes events to recognize the achievement of our employees and drives to give back to the surrounding community.
