Why did you start working at Sonitrol?
I wanted to gain experience and knowledge and grow within the company.
What's your favorite thing about working at Sonitrol?
It is both a relaxed and productive atmosphere. There is a type of freedom in my role to complete my duties, including working with customers to ensure bills are accurate and payment is made. Everyone has a specific role to perform and accomplish in providing security and peace of mind for our clients.
What has been your favorite position?
Probably my current one as Payroll Coordinator. I enjoy serving my colleagues, answering their questions, and meeting deadlines.
What are some of your day-to-day duties?
In my job I wear two hats, as I have multiple clients: Sonitrol customers, Sonitrol vendors, and Sonitrol employees. I answer a lot of traditional HR-type questions for employees about their benefits and payroll. For our customers, I help them make payments over the phone, maintain accounts, and answer questions about billing and purchase orders.
Why do you think Sonitrol stands apart from competitors?
Beside our unique systems, I would say the Sonitrol employees are a key part of the “package”. People who work here not only care at a processional level – for your business, your facility, your staff – but also care about how you are personally and want to get to know you!
What is the most notable change you have seen in the positions you've held?
For the departments I’ve worked in, the most notable change has been the switch to paperless billing. Sending out invoices by mail was time-consuming (printing, stuffing, and mailing), and now I can assist customers with invoice requests so quickly and efficiently by email. Not only does this save time, but it helps the environment (so much saved paper!).
Outside the office, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
We recently purchased a vintage car, so we’ve had fun enjoying driving it with the windows down and the radio up, as well as going to car shows and swap meets. I like watching all of the Bay Area sports teams – 49ers, Warriors, and Giants.
