Apprehension Spotlight

Even with signs and stickers to warn them, intruders still choose to break into buildings secured by Sonitrol.

Our team of operators received alarms from Sonitrol’s unique verified audio system at 3:16 am
at a local golf course. Operators heard male voices, verified a crime in was in progress, and immediately
dispatched San Jose PD.

Within five minutes local police were on site and apprehended one individual! The door sensors were not activated until the police arrived on scene –
good thing this business has Sonitrol’s audio intrusion system!

Meet & Greet with our Sonitrol Central Station Operators

In our next installment of “Getting to Know Sonitrol”, we’re opening the door to our monitoring center and introducing you to some of our Central Station operators.

The primary responsibilities of our trained operators include monitoring customer’s accounts, verifying alarms, and dispatching the appropriate emergency responders. In addition, our team of operators will help you troubleshoot problems with arming/disarming your system, adding/removing users, and making access control changes.

We’ve selected one operator from each of our three monitoring shifts and asked them a few questions so you can get to know them better. We hope you enjoy learning a little more about Jennifer, Jovita, and Marcella!

Position: Day Shift Operator

Tenure at Sonitrol: Almost 5 Years

Favorite Part of the Job: Learning something new everyday.

What do you enjoy doing outside of Sonitrol? I love spending time with my daughter – my perfect day would be to take her to a museum, spend time reading to her and teaching her, and ending the day cuddling with her and watching a movie.

Position: Swing Shift Operator

Tenure at Sonitrol: Almost 2 Years

Favorite Part of the Job: Catching bad guys! And making sure our customers are safe and secure.

What do you enjoy doing outside of Sonitrol? I always make sure to set aside an entire day just for my family – spending time with my husband and kids. I also love to cook!

Position: Night Shift Operator

Tenure at Sonitrol: 1.5 Years

Favorite Part of the Job: Being able to tell customers that Police arrived before burglars could get in or cause damage

What do you enjoy doing outside of Sonitrol? During my off time, I try to spend as much time with my fiancé and two teenage daughters as possible! I volunteer with my fiancé at a local community center 2-3 times per week. Random fact: I hate snails!
