Sonitrol Staff Spotlight: Ashley Preston, A/R Specialist
For the latest installment of our Staff Spotlight feature, we reached out to Ashley Preston, our Accounts Receivable Specialist who recently celebrated her birthday and her 11 year anniversary with
Sonitrol of Silicon Valley in September.
We asked Ashley a few get-to-know-you questions and below are her answers.
What are some of your day-to-day responsibilities?
I make up 1/3 of our accounting team, along with our CFO and accounts payables specialist. I do all of the customer invoicing, assist customers with making payments, and answer billing questions. In addition to the accounting tasks, I help coordinate company events on our “I Make A Difference” team.

You mentioned one of your job duties is to answer customer questions. What are some of the most common ones you receive?
- “What is this bill for?”
- Invoices typically reflect installation costs, service calls, or monitoring charges related to security, access and/or video systems.
- “How can I pay my bill?“
- Customers can make one-time payments or sign up for automatic payments. Sonitrol accepts checks, credit cards, eChecks, and EFT/ACH payments.
- “Do you offer any special discounts?”
- Customers can take advantage of a

What is your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of my job is helping make our customers happy!
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I am told I have a green thumb! I enjoy gardening and I especially love making colorful succulent arrangements. I also have four bearded dragons who enjoy the benefits of my gardening hobby!
Can you share an interesting tidbit with us?
As you will see in the above and below pictures, I was on our Sonitrol softball team for a season. We had an active team for several seasons, but unfortunately we aren’t playing these days!
